Medical Assistant Program
The Medical Assistant program is designed to prepare the student for a medical assisting career which combines medical office administration, laboratory procedures, and assisting the physician with direct patient care. Working under the direction of a physician, the Medical Assistant performs many services including patient history, vital signs, preparing patients for examinations and/or treatment, specimen collection, venipuncture and EKG. Medical Assistants are also trained in front office procedures including appointments, insurance and billing, and electronic record keeping.
